Edna reflects on her outburst and doesn’t have anymore. She abandons her normal schedule. Makes no effort to conduct her household ,therefore does as she wants. Her husband comforts her and tells her how it’s bad of her to do so .what she is doing is improper and that her days would be better spent taking care of the house and children. When she brings her desire to paint he tells her to do. He compares her to Mdm. Ratigonolle and how she doesn’t drop her duties because she plays piano. After their discussion she asked him to leave her alone and he did as asked. She spends the rest of the day painting her children who pose or the slaves. The next couple days were spent that way. Some of them she was unhappy but she did not know why. Her true self was starting to show up and that fictitious self that everyone knew was dead.
