ch 31

Arobin and Edna are the last two left at the huge house after everyone has left. He makes her company and helps her lock the house. They gather a few things before going to her new home. Arobin wants to not only make her simple company but also has some dark intentions in him. They leave to her new home. There Edna prepares herself for bed and at no point does she disagree that she wants it to be quiet and alone. Arobin not giving up finds his way to stay for the night. He stayed until “she had become supple to his gentle, seductive entreaties.”(Chopin, pg. 154)
